Frequently Asked Questions:

• Do you install Freedom shower pans?

  We sell shower pans and have them shipped to your location, but we are not involved in the installation.

  Ask friends and neighbors for local recommendations for a renovation contractor, or a plumber, and always check their references and credentials.

  Also, the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB.org) has a “Find a professional” directory that previous customers have found helpful. We suggest looking for a contractor who has the CAPS designation (Certified Aging in Place Specialist).

• What standard shower base sizes are available?

  Shower bases are listed with Outside Dimensions (OD) to show you the size of the framing pocket that our shower bases will fit into. The most common residential shower base size is 60 x 30 inches, as that is the standard framing pocket size left when you remove a common bathtub.

  However, depending on many factors, like the age and construction of the home, shower base sizes needed could vary.

  We carry prefab shower bases in the following sizes, in a barrier free threshold*:

  • 36 x 36 inches
  • 38 x 38 inches (ADA)
  • 48 x 37 inches
  • 50 x 50 inches
  • 54 x 31 inches
  • 54 x 36 inches
  • 60 x 31 inches

  We also carry tile-over shower base solutions in a larger variety of sizes and a level entry shower pan kit that you can customize to any size.

• Do you make custom shower pans?

  We cannot make custom prefab shower pans, except for large projects. We do have variety sizes available in our prefab and tile over pans.

  The Level Entry Shower Pan Kit can be used to create any custom size shower pan for a tiled shower.

• Do you sell the walls for the shower bases?
  Yes, most of our Freedom Shower bases are available in a corresponding shower stall kit (pan and walls). Check the Shower categories in the main menu.
• What color options are available for the Freedom Shower Pans?

  The default color for the Freedom Shower Pans is Liberty White (matches American Standard white). You can upgrade your shower pan to Ice Gray (Kohler), Biscuit (Kohler), or Bone (American Standard).

  We also have our Century stone color collection to choose from. The CenturyStone has a high gloss, solid surface finish in warm, natural granite colors. The Solid surface has long lasting durable finish in 10 natural colors that will perfectly compliment tile, stone or marble walls to complete your beautiful shower.

• Can you tile over a prefab shower base?

  The fiberglass Freedom Shower bases and the acrylic shower bases are a finished shower pan and should not be tiled on their surface. This would void the warrant.

  Combine your finished shower pan with custom tiled walls for a beautiful accessible shower.

  For a fully custom tiled shower, order the tile over shower pans or the level entry shower pan kit. These pans help make building a barrier free shower easier.
